Shower Walls

Shower Walls

There are many different types of walls. The minimum weight of a 4×8 ft wall at 1 inch thick is 425 lbs. You may need extra support under this shower depending on your situation.   The thinner the wall, the less it would cost. So now let’s talk about cost.

Material

Cost per Square Foot (Material Only)

$2,950 – $4,550

$3,200 – $7,000

Silestone

Epoxy Walls can be made out of Insulated Foam Board or MDF.  The advantage of foam board is obviously the weight factor and cost of the medium.  The cost for these walls change very little with thickness.

I generally use a ¾ inch Foam board.  To add strength and thickness, I apply 3 coats of Epoxy after I use a mesh fiberglass overlay.  The wall then has a very solid feel to it with no give or flex to the outer wall.  The added bonus is insulation to the walls keeping the shower nice and toasty warm.
